1. Agreement
By using PharmCalc you agree to these terms and to the disclaimer, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Who this is for
PharmCalc is an educational and reference tool intended for pharmacists, pharmacy students, and other healthcare professionals. It is not intended for patients or caregivers to calculate their own doses or interpret their own laboratory results.
3. Not medical advice
PharmCalc performs arithmetic on values you supply. It does not provide medical advice, does not create any professional relationship, and is not a substitute for professional clinical judgment. Every result must be independently verified by a qualified healthcare professional before it is used in the care of any patient. See the disclaimer in full.
4. Your responsibility
If you are a licensed healthcare professional, your professional and legal obligations to your patients are unaffected by your use of this site. You remain fully responsible for every clinical decision you make. Nothing here transfers any part of that responsibility.
5. Acceptable use
You may use PharmCalc for study, teaching, and as one input among others into professional practice. You must not enter patient-identifying information; use the site as the sole basis for a clinical decision; present its output to a patient as advice; remove or obscure the disclaimers, citations, or worked-solution display; attempt to disrupt the site or its hosting; or use it in any way that breaks the law or a professional obligation.
6. Intellectual property
Formulae, physical constants, and conversion factors are facts and are not subject to copyright. The explanatory text, worked examples, clinical pearls, interface, and source code of PharmCalc are original work, released under the MIT licence. Drug names are used nominatively for identification only; no affiliation with or endorsement by any manufacturer is claimed or implied, and trademarks remain the property of their owners.
7. Availability
PharmCalc is provided free of charge on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it at any time.
8. No warranty
PharmCalc is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and operators of PharmCalc shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or clinical outcome, arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, this site — whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not the possibility of such damages was advised. Some jurisdictions do not permit these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to your use of PharmCalc shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
11. Changes
These terms may change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any revision, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
